Jung Yeon KIM is a South Korean artist, president of International Association of Social Leisure Development (IASLD) based in Paris.

Born in Seoul, graduating in Fine Art and Art science departments from Hongik University in Seoul, she practised as docent, illustrator and graphic designer until 2011 before starting her MA in Contemporary Art in Paris 8 University. Pursuing her LEISURE project (2014-) on the theme of hyper spectacle in hypermodern society, she undertook doctoral research in Anthropology in EHESS Paris, pursuing her idea of multidisciplinary artforms.

Through articles published and her artworks produced in conjunction with her research, her recent works(Reality, 2016-) proposes a reflexion on the vulnerability of notions as to what is real, and compares societies whose definitions of reality from material to spiritual, even through techno-produced worlds of virtual reality.

Earlier works (before 2016) each have their own particular theme, but are also closely interrelated with the subject reality. Through those initials works, a poetic interpretation about evolving states of mind induced by living out reality (Tanning People, 2009-2018, concluded with a video), and a playful approach on the conceptual introduction of digital culture into present reality (LEISURE series, 2015-), she spoke of socially and semantically broadened notions about reality as defined by a word.
